Description

This is a beautifully crafted antique golden oak Captain’s desk and file cabinet made in Norway – Det Stern Befrakter Kompagni translates to The Star Forwarding Company for the Blue Anchor Line. The Blue Anchor Line was a historical British shipping company. It operated mostly between the UK and Australia between 1870 to 1910.

From a local Bellport Mansion estate who reported that this set was purchased from a high end antique store in London England and shpped to Bellport in the 1970s. It was purchased for $12,000 plus freight.

All the drawers are working as they should – there are some scratches and blemishes from age and wear visible in the photos. Measurements are – desk is 48 inches wide by 23 inches depth by 43 inches all at the highest sloping point. The File cabinet is 26 x 18 x 49 and has two deep drawers for standard files.
